Andrea consistently puts the students first! From assisting students with registering for classes to maximizing the benefits of financial aid available. She always provides a clear and fresh perspective as to how to tackle issues that the students are facing. She’s a team player; always available to guide her staff to success and reminding us all to put our best efforts toward helping one another and the students. She puts the needs of her team before her own. Personally, as a new employee of NIU, she has been a supportive manager and inspirational role model, making my transition as comfortable as possible. Andrea is a phenomenal representation of the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office here at NIU.

While it may be Tammy’s job duty to help with phone issues, she does it with such speed and helpfulness that she exceeds expectations. For departments that depend on the phones for daily business, it is frustrating when they don’t work. Tammy understands this and does all she can to get people communicating as quickly as possible. Thanks, Tammy!
Chris recently started as extra help in the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. She quickly jumped into the fast paced office with calmness and dedication. She volunteers to modify her schedule to ensure coverage of the office and easily modifies what she is doing based on changing priorities AHCD is truly lucky to have her on staff.
When a faculty member was unable to be present for students in clinical due to illness, Romana Donnelly stepped in and took over the class so that students could participate in clinical, get their orientation materials and tour the hospital. We want to to acknowledge Romana’s teamwork and express our gratitude to her for going above and beyond her responsibility to ensure students can be successful.
Susan and Mark are a pleasure to work with. They manage multiple requests and projects, and they do it with the utmost professionalism and care. The College of Education is lucky to have them both.
Sophia gets a vision and executes it perfectly. She is one of those people who when you mention her to others at the university, they go “oh, she’s great.” And she is. Thanks for your hard work!
I can’t say enough positive things about Steve. He goes above and beyond his job duties, making sure our employees and students have access to a safe environment. He identifies urgent problems, addresses them and effectively hands them off to appropriate staff. Steve is invested in the maintenance of our buildings which are critical to the in person labs and clinicals required for student success.
Mary is a delightful person to work with. She is fantastic at her job. She is quick to respond and is a wealth of knowledge. She has been so helpful in getting our student workers, graduate assistants and extra help workers activated.
I had a very confusing, convoluted FMLA situation last year and Vickie was on top of everything. Her communication with me was consistent and thorough. Vickie was also patient with me when I didn’t understand some of the processes and showed great compassion and empathy for my situation. Thank you, Vickie, for all your hard work. NIU is fortunate to have you!
Thank you for being a great campus partner! Ashley was very responsive and willing to share her process and materials so we didn’t need to start from scratch. A great team player, thanks again.
Joe helped craft a message that got our research study picked up by the media. He made sure I was prepared to do the interviews and was very responsive when I thought of additional questions. He checked in after each interview and gave additional feedback and help.
Beth McGowan has once again shared her brilliance with NIU doctoral students. Beth has a wonderful strategy for explaining the research process and library resources in a way that students new to qualitative inquiry can understand and apply in their own research. Several students commented that they have a better understanding of the library and critical analysis of research studies after learning from Beth. Thanks for your exceptional work to support students’ research! We appreciate you! #GoHuskies
