Kudos to Jonie, Theresa, Bailey and Christine for their leadership with regard to “graduate” graduation. The innumerable hours spent to organize and encourage other Graduate School staff and volunteers (i.e., faculty/staff) from across campus to assist made the event run smoothly. This work was above and beyond their already heavy workloads. Many hands and the kindness of others to jump in and help speaks volumes about the team effort at the Graduate School.
Mike is an amazing department chair who truly cares about and is always there for the faculty and department. Over the last couple of years, he has gone outside of his position expectations to fill in where needed and support all of us. Thanks, Mike!
Tori is always friendly, reliable and prompt. She is a team player, and goes out of her way to help others. I really appreciate Tori’s positive, ‘can-do’ attitude!
I’m so impressed with how calm Sheri is at commencement. She’s been doing the job for twenty years, but I can see how others would still be agitated with so much going on. But she’s calm, cool and collected, and helps everyone else stay that way too.
Candy has been a true professional in helping our department work with employee recruitment and retention. She works tirelessly to make sure how needs our met. We are truly grateful to have a partner in HRS like Candy.
Without hesitation, and on multiple occasions, John has offered a helping hand. I appreciate his kindness very much!
Thanks to Ashley, Liz, Julie, Nicole and Dr. Kushnick for going the extra mile to ensure that the College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) Spirit Day was a big success. Your efforts, enthusiasm and CHHS pride are noteworthy. Thank you!
Abby led a the catering team to a successful prom for Dekalb HS of 550 people. The client left a note saying:
“Thanks to you and your team for helping us conduct such an enjoyable prom. Your staff was professional and helpful all evening from set up to the event itself, to tear down. A special thank you to Abby in the kitchen for being so resourceful and responsive to our needs by providing a cart for carrying boxes, to offering water for our roses, to suggesting a more efficient way to tear down our decorations.
Thank you again for all your attention to detail in navigating room layout and coordinating with catering and tech to pull together an organized event. Please notify me once we have a date for 2023 on the books.”
Aubrey was a rock star as the end of the year was finishing up. Between managing the day to day rigors and also helping the Interfraternity Council (IFC) be successful in their annual philanthropy event called Tugs, Aubrey has stepped up to make sure things ran smoothly. Aubrey not only supported the IFC event but also went to late night events where new members were revealed to the public by our other councils such as our newly named Multicultural Greek Council.
Aubrey continues to do great work and has worked hard to support our fraternity and sorority life throughout the year. Thank you for being awesome!
Christy recently joined our department as the Biology Program advisor and provides excellent support to the students. Specifically, in addition to a tremendous work load she jumped right in to help plan our Biology Award ceremony. This is a wonderful event that honors the achievements of the students. She presented many of the awards with professionalism and genuine excitement. The department is so grateful for Christy!
As the director of employee services one would expect the person within that role to be unavailable and/or unwelcoming because of their status but Mrs. Lacey dispels that belief by always being a message, a call or an email away. She genuinely cares about those within her department and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Her efforts are appreciated.
