Mary patiently and enthusiastically explained financial statements to me at the 11th hour, while on deadline for a grant proposal. She is always going above and beyond for the Education Systems Center team and is such a strong cheerleader for our work. We couldn’t do it without Mary.
Kristin is always incredibly supportive, flexible and adaptable in dealing with multiple clients with multiple music needs. Unfailingly, she has been a joy to work with.
Scott worked tirelessly over the Summer to improve the atmospheric conditions in the College of Education Learning Center. He always responds to work order requests with a “let’s get this done” attitude and the utmost professionalism.
Kevin is a Network Engineer that supports the DoIT Regional Technology Services Division and their external NIUNet and iFiber customers.
Kevin is not only extremely pleasant to work with but goes above and beyond resolving issues even when he is busy with other tasks or even off for the day. He is a very motivated employee who values his work product and relationships with internal and external customers. Kevin is very much appreciated.
Salina is the best! With the craziness of the semester starting she has worked in overdrive to help get all our instructors into the system so they have access to all our platforms for teaching. She is a true gem in HR. This semester would not be happening without her.
Myoung is a very caring individual. He goes above and beyond to help his colleagues without giving it a second thought. He took time out of his Sunday to assist me and it is so appreciated. He is a top-notch guy. Thank you Myoung for all you do, you are the best!
Julie is consistently professional and effective in her support of faculty and the programs in our department. Due to turnover and staffing shortages, Julie has taken on extra duties above and beyond her normal job tasks. I feel so lucky to have her on the team. Thank you for all you do, Julie!
Christy recently became the Assistant Director for Student Success. She led our participation in the DeKalb School District 428 Benefits Vendor Fair 2021 on Monday, August 16th. The turnout was spectacular and our outreach to district educators and staff was outstanding. Thank you Christy!
Tom West returned to work on campus in June of 2020 and has been in place serving as point of contact for students, families and other NIU offices for the past 14 months. Tom exhibits the best in Huskie pride every day, and has worked diligently to serve the ever increasing student and family presence on campus during the past several months. In his role he has been one of the consistent accessible staff members on campus for our incoming students as they have come to NIU for face to face service. We are very grateful for Tom’s dedication and commitment over the past year and half.
Connie Rhoton exemplifies teamwork. Through Covid she has been asked to help with several tasks above and beyond her typical workload. She serves her students and colleagues willingly and with a positive attitude. She is a true gem and the School of Art and Design is so fortunate to have her!
Officer Dan Leifker is an incredible asset to NIU Police and Public Safety Department. On August 11th he taught CPR Basic Life Saving course to myself and several others. Officer Leifker has been teaching CPR for 13 years and is a EMT, Paramedic and certified firefighter. I feel so fortunate that NIU has such a highly trained police officer. He was also extremely professional, compassionate and friendly.
