Abbey stepped in to head the Music Library just before fall semester started. Already she is proving a very effective advocate for libraries, and she is meeting challenges with pragmatic and innovative ideas and undaunted spirit. We are fortunate to have her here.

Marsha and Marcy are two very friendly and helpful people in the NIU bookstore. Our department is always late with book orders, however, they never complain, are always understanding and willing to help. I want to express my appreciation for their helpful attitude which makes my life easier. Thank you ladies.

I have not been at the institution long, but I have been so impressed by the commitment and visionary thinking of Dr. Elish-Piper. She truly cares about the faculty, staff and students, not only in the COE, but across campus. She is a wonderful example and I have appreciated her leadership.

Beatrice works very hard for our department with professionalism. As the only office manager in a department whose student body is more than 500, she is the person who gets everything to work smoothly. She is an indispensable asset to the department! Thank you for everything you do for faculty and students!

Being a new employee can be very exciting and comforting with the right support from a co-worker. Debbie Gutierrez has been very patient and informative and a great mentor during my departmental transition. She also adds laughter to our work days.

Whenever Sam walks by my office, he stops to say hello. A small thing? When someone smiles at you first, you feel validated and welcomed. Sam goes out of his way to help me set up for events, to make the building sparkle, and jumps in at the end of his shift when he could easily head out the door. Thank you Sam!
