Becky’s commitment to NIU has long been unquestionable. She often works long hours to ensure everyone’s needs are met – whether it’s her students, faculty, colleagues, internship sites, advisees. She never hesitates to share her wealth of knowledge regarding NIU to help others learn and grow. This was no different this past summer when she had to navigate working from home with her small children. Becky not only assisted us with advising when she could have easily said “no,” she put in countless hours of work doing her best to ensure students’ graduation plans would not be deterred due to COVID and that they would be able to complete meaningful internship opportunities that could lead to career advancement. This is exceptionally challenging if you consider that these are public health internships during a world-wide pandemic, when many sites were unable to take on interns for various reasons. Becky also agreed to take on additional responsibilities to help out the team. She is a phenomenal example of what it means to be a Huskie, and we truly appreciate all that she does. Thank you, Becky!
