Diverse vendors coming to NIU campus

The Office of Procurement Services and Contract Management is bringing dozens of diverse vendors to campus on Wednesday, October 16th.

Representatives from small businesses and companies owned by women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities will showcase their products and services at NIU’s Diverse Vendor Networking Fair in the Duke Ellington Ballroom from 9:00am until 2:00pm. The fair will increase opportunities for NIU to partner with vendors that are certified with the state’s Business Enterprise Program.

“We are looking to build strategic partnerships with companies that have traditionally been underrepresented,” said Antoinette Bridges, NIU’s Director of Procurement Services and Contract Management. “The Diverse Vendor Networking Fair will allow our staff to network with the vendors, become more familiar with the products offered, and expand their options when it comes time to make a purchase.”

President Lisa C. Freeman and other guests will kick the fair off with remarks at 9:15am.  Faculty and staff from all divisions and departments are encouraged to attend, especially those who have procurement and purchasing responsibilities.

An information session is being held for all business managers from 8:30am-9:00am in the Holmes Student Center’s Regency Room. Commercial Card holders should attend the information session in the Regency Room from 11:00am-11:30am. Confirm attendance and register today.
