Majors and Minors Fair happening on Sept. 18

September 4, 2019

Students are invited to learn more about the many majors and minors offered at NIU and to start on the path to choosing their ideal program of study at the Majors and Minors Fair, being held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 18 in the Duke Ellington Ballroom at the Holmes Student Center.

“The Majors and Minors Fair is designed for all students who want to find out more about majors, minors, and other academic opportunities by allowing them the opportunity to investigate various curricular and career options in a centralized location,” Beverly McCall, associate director for the Academic Advising Center, said.

With over 50 majors and 70 minors, narrowing down a field of study can be a daunting task. The fair is designed to simplify that by bringing all academic and many co-curricular programs together in one place so students can easily explore programs related to their interests.

More than 130 people will be on hand to answer questions and help students explore their options. Meet with departmental advisers and faculty members to learn about the variety of academic programs and support available on campus.

“The fair offers an opportunity to connect the students’ career interests with a major and to connect a minor with their major,” McCall said. “It’s also a great opportunity for students to make connections with an adviser within their major department.”

Your future is our focus. Explore all we have to offer at the Majors and Minors Fair.
