President Freeman to hold office hours

Members of the Northern Illinois University community are partners with NIU leadership in creating a positive NIU experience. With that in mind, President Freeman invites NIU faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members, to meet with her during newly scheduled office hours.

“I welcome respectful and constructive dialogue about NIU,” says President Freeman. “I am excited about this opportunity to hear from members of the Huskie family about how we can work together to move the university forward.”

Meetings will be held in the President’s Office, Altgeld Hall 300 and are limited to 15 minutes.  Appointment blocks of four 15-minute meetings are available during the semester. Meetings should typically include one person, but consideration for groups up to three will be made based on the topic. First-time participants will be given priority.

Office hours for the spring 2019 semester are available on:

  • Friday, Feb. 22: 12-1 p.m.
  • Friday, March 22: 3-4 p.m.
  • Monday, April 8: 1-2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 2: 10 a.m.-11 a.m.

Please note that these days and hours could be subject to change.

Meeting requests with President Freeman should be made no less than one week in advance by using the form on the President’s website. Specific meeting times will appear once you have selected your preferred appointment date. Once a date is full, you will no longer be able to select it. Requests must include a topic of discussion in order to ensure that matters appropriately addressed by other university personnel will be redirected. You will be notified by the President’s Office regarding whether your request has been accepted.

Questions regarding office hours may be directed to Liz Wright, ewright1@niu.edu, executive assistant to the president.
