For over 10 years, the name Joe Lifshitz has been synonymous with events on the NIU campus. Joe has planned, coordinated, marketed, supported, produced and staged events in his work in Student Involvement and Leadership Development, the Holmes Student Center and Student Affairs. His teams in Operation Services and Production and Technology Services, at the Holmes Student Center, support small group meetings, multi-day conferences, banquets and large events, including Welcome Days, Homecoming activities, and student organization events. Joe works tirelessly, in support of events, the HSC operation, facility, staff and students. No matter how busy he is, and he’s almost always busy, Joe makes time to check in with others, listen to their questions and concerns, and provide guidance, assistance, support and/or an opportunity to laugh. He is caring, dedicated and hard working. We are fortunate to have Joe as assistant director of the Holmes Student Center. He makes the HSC and NIU a better place!
