Family Weekend is open to all families and community members. We’ll be rolling out the red – and black – carpet for our families to participate in the NIU community. Come, join the pack Friday, Sept. 14 through Sunday, Sept. 16!
Family Weekend features a range of activities to foster a sense of Huskie spirit for NIU students and their family members. There are also plenty of opportunities to explore DeKalb County!
Join us for a free movie in the Holmes Student Center, catch a show at the Egyptian Theatre or enjoy a meal at Neptune for the Family Breakfast. Enter a bags tournament for a chance to win a prize basket, cheer on the football team at Huskie Stadium, or stop by the Ellwood House for tours and an opportunity to check out the Exhibit Galleries.
You also might head to Jonamac Orchard for a taste of autumn, enjoy a tour and (if you’re old enough) tasting at Whiskey Acres Distilling Company or families can even camp out at the West Lagoon!
Of course, you’ll want to join the Family Tailgate and then cheer from the sidelines as the Huskies take on Central Michigan. Before wrapping up the weekend, you can join us for a family breakfast and have your family portrait taken by an NIU photographer.
