Students don’t have to look far for support when it comes to the writing process for academics and career needs. The University Writing Center (UWC) is working to raise awareness of their services, which include expanded satellite locations and online resources for faculty, students and staff.
UWC staff are available to assist with generating ideas, understanding assignments, revising papers and documenting sources. They also assist with resumes, personal statements, application materials, cover letters, and writing for the GRE, LSAT, GMAT and MCAT exams.
“We have helped create presentations, conference materials and professional publications. We do in-class workshops and presentations, and consult with faculty on assignments, rubrics and more,” said Gail Jacky, director of the UWC.
Last year the UWC worked with about 1,700 undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff, conducting a total of 10,685 30-minute sessions.
