Sponsored Programs Administration introduces new electronic routing process

June 9, 2017

Sponsored Programs Administration is excited to announce the launch of electronic routing of all grant and contract proposals created on or after July 1 using our NIU electronic research administration (eRA) system, InfoEd.

All approvers, including PI(s)/Co-PI(s) will need a login and password to the NIU eRA portal. Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA); Research Compliance, Safety, and Integrity (ORCIS); and Innovation (OI) use this system so you may already be familiar with it. If you already have access to InfoEd or use the SPIN funding search database, your login will remain the same. If you are a new user to the system, you will receive an email with your login/password information and brief instructions on the approval process.

Reviewers will receive notice via their NIU email when a proposal requires review.

A job aid is available here to walk reviewers through the process and contact information is provided should assistance be needed.

SPA Research Development Specialists will walk Investigators through the new routing process during proposal development and will continue to help Investigators initiate routing.
