Payroll statements go online beginning July 1

May 30, 2017

Beginning Saturday, July 1, all current NIU employees will be automatically enrolled in online payroll statements. This change will be effective with the payday that occurs on Friday, July 14.

While many employees currently take advantage of this green delivery method, more than 3,000 still receive paper statements. By making this change, the university stands to save approximately $20,000 a year on the costs of envelopes, printing, sorting, and courier and mail services, as well as decrease its environmental impact.

All employees will be able to access their pay advice statements securely and conveniently at any time through MyNIU. The eStatements are electronic versions of the mailed paper statements. They look just like paper statements and contain the same information, but are available to employees quickly and easily through a secure internet web portal. Electronic pay statements also are typically available for viewing several days before paper statements are distributed.

Opt-in to receive paper pay statement

Any employee that prefers to receive a paper pay advice rather than an electronic one, will need to opt-in for the paper statement format after Saturday, July 15. Instructions for opting-in are available on the Human Resources web page.
