Benefits Choice period ends May 31

May 26, 2017

The annual Benefit Choice period for FY2018 will conclude on Wednesday, May 31. Employees wishing to make a change to their insurance must process the change on the MyBenefits Marketplace website before midnight on May 31.

Employees that participate in the Flexible Spending Account (MCAP and/or DCAP) program must re-enroll every year, and this enrollment will also need to be processed on the MyBenefits Marketplace website. Additionally, employees must re-enroll in MCAP for the new plan year in order to qualify for the rollover. Those who do not re-enroll will forfeit any amount eligible for rollover.

Although online processing is encouraged, employees can call the MyBenefits Marketplace customer service phone number at 844-251-1777 and a representative can process the enrollment on the employee’s behalf. Office hours during Benefit Choice are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Documentation deadlines

Any documentation required for requested changes must be uploaded to the MyBenefits Marketplace website by Monday, June 5, to ensure timely transmission to the carriers. Any employee that has requested to increase their supplemental life insurance or to add spouse life insurance must complete a Statement of Health form. Statement of Health forms must be received by Minnesota Life by Friday, June 30, for review. Employees needing assistance with uploading documents or mailing Statement of Health forms to Minnesota Life should contact the Insurance and Employee Benefits Office at 815-753-6000.

Computers and assistance available in Human Resource Services

For the remainder of the Benefit Choice period, Human Resource Services will have computers and staff available to assist employees with questions and/or processing on the MyBenefits Marketplace website in both Human Resource locations (1515 W. Lincoln Highway and Swen Parson 110). Assistance will be available from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily in each location.
