State director to discuss economic impact of tourism in DeKalb

May 4, 2017

Cory Jobe, Director
Illinois Office of Tourism

In spite of Illinois’ economic woes, one industry continues to flourish in our state:  travel and tourism.

Next week, NIU faculty, staff and students are invited to find out how Illinois continues to attract visitors and how they boost local economies at a presentation by Illinois Director of Tourism Cory Jobe.  Jobe will appear at DeKalb’s Egyptian Theatre from 10 – 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11. The presentation is free, but RSVPs are appreciated.

Jobe will be talking about the new ad campaigns IOT just launched, the Illinois Made program, the economic impact of tourism on local economies and the state, and other related topics.  His appearance is sponsored by the DeKalb County Convention and Visitors Bureau in honor of National Travel and Tourism week.
