Say hello and welcome new transfer students in April

April 2, 2017

In April, NIU will welcome new transfers and their families to campus for their orientation program. Orientation & Family Connections hosts four programs in April (April 5, 7, 12 and 17) that are designed to introduce new transfer students to the tools and resources that will help them be successful. April programs are shorter than the longer summer program but still give students time to begin to understand campus, meet with an academic advisor and register for classes.

During April orientation, new students and their families will be on campus starting at 8 a.m. and will park in the visitor parking lot.  The orientation program begins in the Holmes Student Center, but new students will be all around campus meeting with advisors, visiting Student Financial Aid and the Scholarship Office and touring campus.

If you see a new student or their family member (they’ll have on a red lanyard and nametag), don’t be afraid to say hello and welcome them to the Huskie community!

For more information about April orientation programs, please visit the Orientation & Family Connections website. Questions about the orientation program can be directed to Abbey Wolfman at awolfman@niu.edu.
