Pride awards dinner, April 21

On Friday, April 21 the NIU community is invited to come together in celebration as the Presidential Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity hosts the 23rd Annual Pride Awards Dinner. This banquet is convened every year to honor NIU students, faculty, staff and partners who have significantly fostered an atmosphere of fellowship and inclusiveness for the LGBTQ+ community at NIU.

Among the awards presented at the Pride Awards Dinner will be the Eychaner (pronounced Ike-ner) Awards. This pair of awards is presented to a student and faculty, staff member or alumnus/a who have made outstanding contributions that enhance the lives of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender.

The 23rd Annual Pride Awards Dinner will be held in the Chandelier Room of Adams Hall, with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. and the program starting at 6:30 p.m. All allies of the LGBTQ+ community are encouraged to attend. The event is free to all who are interested. Due to space limitations, an RSVP is required by emailing pcsogi@niu.edu by Friday, April 15. Attire for the evening is business professional/casual.
