HR workshops continue in November

November 2, 2016

Human Resource Services Training Programs continues their training series during November with several workshops for university employees.

The first of the November series will cover the dynamics to consider when onboarding new employees. Office of Student Academic Success (OSAS) staff, Brian Berchtold, Anthony Calderala and Dana Gautcher will present, “Get a Clue: Unraveling the Mysteries of Onboarding New Employees” on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m.

If you have questions about how to talk with employees about delicate issues in a way that promotes change, as well as how, when and the steps to refer a colleague for Employee Assistance Program (EAP) assistance and support, consider attending “EAP: When Personal Issues Affect Work” on Friday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m., facilitated by EAP Director Brian Smith.

Employees who have direct responsibility for handling and depositing cash and overseeing cash operations will not want to miss “Managing & Handling Cash” on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m., led by Shyree Sanan, controller; Christine Monteiro and Sandra Fasnacht, internal audit; and Nyoka Polyak, treasury operations.

And finally, Training Programs Assistant Director Lesley Gilbert will lead, “Skills for New (or Not So New) Supervisors” on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.

To register for any of these training opportunities, please contact the Training Programs office at [email protected] or call 815-753-9192. Employees are reminded to learn more about these and other training sessions by regularly visiting the Training Programs web page at
