The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education NIU FIT Program offers a convenient, affordable and effective fitness program for NIU faculty, staff and community members. We will provide the guidance and support you need to make the most of the time you have available to exercise. Exercise before your workday, during your lunch hour or right after work. Choose from 20 group exercise classes each week!
For one flat fee, your FIT membership includes access to the fitness centers in Anderson and Gabel Halls, use of the Anderson Hall pool for water exercises and lap swims, over twenty group exercise classes per week (land and aquatic), and locker and towel service in Anderson Hall. In addition to the exercise facilities, physical fitness assessments (e.g., blood pressure screening, body composition, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular fitness, and flexibility testing), individualized exercise prescriptions and educational programs on fitness, health, and nutrition are available and included in the flat fee.
We have fun programs for the whole family as well, such as FIT Family Swim Nite! Children and spouses of FIT members can swim in Anderson Pool every Thursday, 4:45-6:00 p.m.
You can access registration materials and information on program hours and classes, fees and facilities by visiting the FIT web page at cedu.niu.edu/knpe/outreach/fit/registration.shtml.
