ACT test prep scheduled for fall

Photo of a person taking a standardized test with a No. 2 pencilNIU’s Fall ACT test preparation program provides individualized attention in a small classroom setting and offers students a chance to best prepare themselves for the ACT test.

The ACT Fall Session will start Sunday, Sept. 18, and end Sunday, Oct. 16. Sessions are scheduled from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in Graham Hall Room 341. Enrollment is limited; registration is now open online.

NIU’s program covers English, math, reading and science reasoning:

  • Sept. 18: Pre-test
  • Sept. 25: English
  • Oct. 2: Reading and Science Reasoning
  • Oct. 9: Math
  • Oct. 16: Post-test

Instructors are Lance Vobornik, an experienced mathematics instructor at NIU with a master’s degree in applied mathematics; and Melissa Craig, an experienced teacher at St. Thomas More School.

Cost is $250 ($275 after Sept. 2), which includes instruction, book, CD-ROM and retired ACT tests. It does not include registration to take the actual ACT test.

Parking is free at NIU on Sundays but students must not park in spaces marked “Reserved At All Times.”
