Earth Week begins April 18

green-goNIU’s first Earth Week is scheduled from Monday, April 18, through Saturday, April 23.

Earth Week is a collaborative effort supported by more than 15 environmentally conscious organizations to bring a more sustainable culture to NIU.

Organizations include:

  • NIU Student Association
  • Green Paws Environmental Alliance
  • Illinois Lakes Management Association
  • Committee for the Preservation of Wildlife
  • Communiversity Gardens
  • Geography Club
  • Geology Club
  • Anthropology Club
  • Sustainability, Environment, and Recycle Management Association
  • Vegetarian Education Group
  • Collegiate Association of Unreasonable Social Entrepreneurs
  • Green Living Community
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Club
  • H2O 2Go
  • Supporting Opportunities for Latinos

Fun, interactive events are planned throughout the week; members of the university community are encouraged to share the events with theirfriends and make sure to use #GoGreenNIU to find events, thereby helping to extend the movement beyond just this one week!
