College of Law dean hopefuls to hold open forums

Swen Parson HallFour finalists for the deanship of the NIU College of Law will hold open forums this week.

As a member of the faculty, the successful candidate will possess qualifications appropriate to a tenured professor.

Internally, the dean is expected to provide the transparent and collaborative leadership necessary to preserve and enhance NIU College of Law’s commitment to outstanding student-centered legal education by accomplished teacher-scholars.

Externally, the dean has major responsibilities for the college’s relationships with alumni, the legal profession, the academy and the larger public it serves. Creative fundraising, development of initiatives and enhancement of NIU College of Law’s reputation will be priorities. The dean will be assisted in these tasks by a dedicated and diverse faculty and staff, ready to build on the past while writing the next chapter in the history of this collegial and ambitious law school.
