Applications open for Program Prioritization Student Task Force

February 29, 2016

Photo of a magnifying glassAre you a current NIU student dedicated to the betterment and success of the university as a whole?

Do you want to be part of a groundbreaking group of students that will ultimately write a new chapter in a process that is undertaken by almost half of all public institutions across the country?

If so, the Student Association would like to encourage you to apply to sit on one of the two Student Task Forces that will review the findings of NIU’s Program Prioritization process.

Program Prioritization is a comprehensive review process of all departments of the university so that resources can be allocated in the most efficient way possible.

Departments are separated into two categories: Academic and Administrative.

Members of the Academic Task Force will look at recommendations regarding all academic programs from the university, including majors, minors, certificates, graduate programs and other academic initiatives. Others will look at administrative programs, which examines offices of the university that support the university’s functioning but are not academic (for example, SILD, Advising, Athletics, etc.).

Candidates for the task forces will need to go through training to ensure general knowledge of program prioritization.

All students are welcome to apply. Applications are available online. The deadline is Friday, March 11.
