Kimberly A. Lawless, associate dean for research at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Education, will visit NIU at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, to speak on on “Developing a Scientifically Literate Citizenry Through Written Argumentation: The GlobalEd2 Project.”
Her address, part of the PI Academy Mentor Speaker Series, will take place in the Sky Room of Holmes Student Center.

Lawless focuses her personal research interests on the effectiveness of technology in classrooms toward improving reading comprehension skills of K-12 students. She writes and publishes widely on educational technology, instructional science and reading.
