Retiring NIU Law faculty honored at reception

The NIU College of Law celebrated the careers of three long-time distinguished faculty members Nov. 17 at a retirement reception.

Associate Dean Dave Gaebler (32 years), Professor Dan Reynolds (33 years) and Professor Elvia Arriola (15 years) were honored for providing a wealth of contributions to the law school in their combined 80 years of service while surrounded by NIU Law faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends as well as members of the university community.

Interim Dean Mark Cordes recognized each of the honorees noting their service as exceptional educators and scholars, commitment to students and devotion to advancing legal education. He also presented them with commemorative plaques in appreciation for their invaluable contributions at the law school.

Each of the retirees spoke, expressing gratitude to their colleagues, their admiration for the accomplishments of the law school and the pride they have taken in helping to mold law students into successful lawyers.
