It’s cops versus firefighters!
The Northern Illinois University Police, DeKalb Police and DeKalb Fire departments are co-sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the parking lot of the DeKalb Police Department at 700 W. Lincoln Hwy.
Heartland Blood Centers, the main blood supplier to many hospitals in the area including Kishwaukee, Delnor, Central DuPage, Kindred, Rush Copley, Valley West and 60 others, is facilitating the drive.
All who donate blood that day can cast their votes for the police team or fire team of their choice. At the end of the day, the winning team gets bragging rights while donors get bragging rights for helping a good cause along with stylish “Cuffs and Hoses” T-shirts.
