Tuesday at OHANA:

October 23, 2015

OHANA!Students can enjoy Halloween activities and celebrate October birthdays at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, during the NIU Asian American Center’s “OHANA!” event.

All are welcome to join in the fun in the Capitol Room of the Holmes Student Center. Costumes are welcome.

“OHANA!” also will acknowledge students whose efforts are “above and beyond the call of duty” along with the Student Organization of the Month. Protégé recognition is planned as well. Pumpkin painting, cupcake decorating, face painting and a photo booth will add to the festivities.

The cupcake decorating gives students the opportunity to participate in a fundraiser by donating to “She’s the First,” which helps provide education to girls in low-income countries through creative bake sales. Most often, these girls are the first in their families to graduate from high school.

  • 96 percent respondents agree that they feel more connected to NIU through “OHANA!”
