Faculty, students invited to learn about Mentor Matching Engine

October 12, 2015

Mentor EngineWant to help students who are just beginning their journeys in the world of research? Mentor Matching Engine is looking for mentors.

The Mentor Matching Engine is an online platform designed to connect professors and teachers with high school students to help mentor them through research projects.

Mentors leverage their expertise and professional experience to guide students through student-led research. Qualified research projects include classroom-based independent research, R&D STEM Challenges and science fair projects at the Research & Development STEM Learning Exchange partner schools.

Northern Illinois University undergraduates, graduate students and faculty are encouraged to take part in this opportunity to e-mentor students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning will host an informational session about the Mentor Matching Engine from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in Altgeld 125. Late breakfast will be provided.
