NIU dietetic interns heading ‘Back to the Future’ for special dinners

Beef KoftaNIU dietetic interns are hosting two special dinner events in October.

The collective theme for the special dinners this year is “Back to The Future.” Stevenson Dining Hall will step back into ancient Egypt, while Neptune will look back to the pioneer era of U.S. history.

“Egyptian Oasis”

The “Egyptian Oasis” special dinner at Stevenson Dining Hall will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21. The menu will feature delicious Egyptian cuisine such as beef kofta, baklava and a Greek yogurt bar.

Raffle prizes and live music also are planned.

“Living Off the Land”

A chance to step back into the pioneer era awaits visitors to the Neptune Dining Hall from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. This special dinner will feature delicious items such as chicken and dumplings, Native American cornbread and bison burgers.

Various raffle prizes also are in the works.
