Northern Illinois University Press has just the thing.
The press is holding a “carry-out” book sale this fall featuring hundreds of titles at drastically reduced prices. The sale is open to the public, and the majority of books, both hardback and paperback, are priced at $2, $3 or $5.
Visit www.niupress.niu.edu/niupress/order.asp for a complete list of sale titles and prices, as well as an order form. Look through the list to see what interests you, then place your order by filling out the form and sending it to [email protected]. Orders must be received by Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Books can be paid for and picked up at the press office, located at 2280 Bethany Road in DeKalb (at the corner of Bethany Road and Route 23). Pick-up will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, and from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13. Books in several subject areas will be available at sale prices.
Sports fans can grab a copy of “Northern Illinois Huskies Football” for just $10. History enthusiasts will find much of interest, including titles on U.S. history, Russian studies and European history. Those fascinated by railroads and transportation will be interested in “Chicago Maritime” and “The Iron Horse and the Windy City.” Biography/memoir fans will want to pick up “A Man of Salt and Trees: The Life of Joy Morton.”
Novels and short story collections from the press’s fiction imprint, Switchgrass Books, will also be on sale.
Several other titles in these and additional subject areas, including philosophy, politics, regional studies, and religion, will be available. Orders will be filled in the order they are received, and quantities are limited, so place your order early!
