NIU’s Academic Career Expo, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the Duke Ellington Ballroom of the Holmes Student Center, is an opportunity to learn more about majors/minors and how they connect to various careers.
This year, the Academic Career Expo will offer three exciting workshops for students to attend. All are held in the Capitol Room, come to one, two or all three.
- 11:15 a.m. Connecting the Dots: How Majors Lead to Careers
- 12:15 p.m. Strategies for Exploring Majors
- 1:15 p.m. Transitioning to Life: Preparing for Career Success
Students who plan to attend the Academic Career Expo can maximize their experience by attending workshops, identifying several college departments to visit and determining skills they will develop through these majors and how those relate to what employers want are seeking. Students also are encouraged to eek out information about minors and certificate programs that compliment their majors.
