NIU community invited to annual President’s Picnic

President's Welcome Back PicnicAs part of Welcome Days 2015 activities, NIU President Doug Baker will host the annual President’s Picnic from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.

The President’s Picnic, held along the west shore of the East Lagoon and the quad area west of Castle Drive, is one of many events scheduled over the weekend and beyond to welcome new and returning student to the NIU campus and community.

All NIU students, faculty and staff are invited to join President Baker for an afternoon of free food, live music and other fun activities. Several local merchants and organizations will showcase some of the great resources and amenities the community has to offer.

Now in its third year, the President’s Picnic has become one of the most popular Welcome Days events with more than 4,000 people attending the picnic in 2014. The event is a great way for the NIU campus community to celebrate the start of an exciting new academic year.
