July 22, 2015

50 Men Who Cook logoCourt Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of DeKalb County will hold its 11th annual 50 Men Who Cook signature fundraising event Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center.

Presented by KishHealth System, the event features prominent men from DeKalb County who prepare their favorite dishes, including appetizers, salads, side dishes, entrees and desserts. Previous first-place winners have included NIU’s own Jerry Wright and Illinois State Rep. Bob Pritchard.

The evening will include dinner (sampling of all dishes), cash bar, entertainment and a silent auction.

All proceeds help to support abused and neglected children in DeKalb County through the CASA program. CASA is a non-profit organization which trains local citizens as volunteer child advocates. These advocates are appointed by the DeKalb County Juvenile Court in cases involving children who have been abused or neglected by their parent or guardian.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased in advance online or at the CASA main office (407 W. State St., No. 6, in Sycamore), Resource Bank, NB&T main office and Crum-Halstead. Tickets also are available at the door.
