July 14, 2015

Northern Public Radio 2016 Calendar Contest logoNorthern Public Radio, home to 89.5 WNIJ and Classical WNIU, is looking for original art by local artists to feature in the 2016 Northern Public Radio wall calendar.

All visual artwork is eligible for consideration, including painting, sculptures, mixed media, photography and more.

“We have incredibly talented artists who live and work throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin,” said Maria Boynton, director of community engagement at Northern Public Radio.

“We were able to showcase the talent of local authors in our 2015 Summer Book Series. Now we want to shine some light on the visual artists who live and work in our listening area as well. The calendar will be a year-long testament to the talent of our region.”

For consideration, artists should send a picture of their work to mboynton@niu.edu or mail them to the attention of Maria Boynton, Northern Public Radio, 801 N. First St., DeKalb, IL 60115. There is no cost to enter and no limit to entries per artist. The artwork must be an original creation. There is no financial compensation for any participant.

The deadline for entries is midnight Friday, July 31. Every entry must include the artist’s full name, phone number, home address and email address. Northern Public Radio will arrange for high-resolution photographs of the artwork, as needed, after the selections have been made. The artist’s name will appear alongside the artwork in the final calendar design. He or she can choose whether to include contact information as well.
