Open forums begin Thursday, April 30, for the four contenders for the job of senior associate vice president for Academic Diversity and chief diversity officer at NIU.
The successful candidate will become responsible for leading and coordinating efforts to help members of NIU’s diverse community feel connected to NIU and the surrounding DeKalb community and to move NIU toward the goal of creating an even more welcoming and inclusive community.
The finalists have the education, perspectives and experience to provide vision, leadership and counsel on matters of diversity and inclusion; collaborate with all campus units to create a welcoming and respectful academic environment that embraces diversity as a dimension of excellence; and promote a culture of openness and inclusion at NIU.
