DeKalb Public Library opens doors for Saturday NIU Preview Day

DeKalb Public LibraryThe DeKalb Public Library will provide free “behind-the-scenes” tours to the NIU campus community at 3:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. These tours will provide a guided look at the new library expansion, and offer some insight into the many improvements and enhancements that will become available once the new building opens.

These tours are only available to the NIU community; please join the DeKalb Public Library for this informational experience and some refreshments.

Once completed, the new public library in DeKalb will be a great asset to the community:

  • A vibrant downtown DeKalb has an important role in the overall student life experience at NIU. The public library plays a significant part in that.
  • The new library building will be a cornerstone of a revitalized community providing a destination and point of interest in the heart of DeKalb.
  • A new library offers an additional, nearby space to meet, to study, and to access further resources and information technology to help students succeed.

Those wishing to take part in this special NIU Preview Day on April 25 should RSVP with name and session to Dee Coover, director of the DeKalb Public Library, by email at DeeC@dkpl.org.
