Events set to celebrate non-traditional, military, off-campus students

In appreciation for the effort and involvement of non-traditional, off-campus, and military student populations, Off-Campus and Non-Traditional Student Services and Military Student Services will host several events during the week of April 20.

Town Hall Meeting
Monday, April 20, 10 to 11 a.m.
Holmes Student Center, Sky Room

The town hall setting provides an opportunity for Eric Weldy, vice president of the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, to discuss with students and staff the results from surveys and focus groups that occurred through the school year regarding the co-location of the two offices.

Homeless Veterans “Sleep Out”
noon Wednesday, April 22, to noon Thursday, April 23
MLK Commons

The NIU Veterans Association hosts a “Sleep Out” for homeless veterans. The event will feature an evening movie and segue into the annual spring BBQ.

Veterans BBQ
Thursday, April 23, noon to 3 p.m.
Adams Hall lawn

The Veterans BBQ is a hail-and-farewell event to acknowledge student veterans’ academic achievements and say goodbye to spring graduates.

All NIU students are invited to join Off-Campus & Non-Traditional Student Services and Military Student Services in rewarding student involvement this past school year. Students and their families are welcome to enjoy free food, games and prizes.
