NIU has launched an online inquiry form where all employees are to provide pertinent details of their interactions with potential students.

Submitting the form guarantees formal and detailed follow-up calls with potential students within 24 hours, and enables NIU to proactively communicate with these students by inviting them to campus events and other recruiting activities.

The vital mission of enrolling new students, says NIU President Doug Baker, is “the responsibility of every person on our campus.”

“Because the work of building our enrollment is so critical to the sustained vitality of our campus and community, we must carefully track all interactions with potential students,” Baker says.

“Whether these contacts are taking place over the phone, email or in person, and regardless if these chats are informal in nature, collecting these students’ information is an essential part of the process.

Employees are urged to print the Job Aid Form and keep it at their desks or on hand for reference.
