NIU Cares Day needs project site leaders

February 16, 2015

NIU Cares DayAre you a staff member, faculty member, or graduate assistant looking to work alongside students who are doing great things for the community?

Consider volunteering for NIU Cares Day, which takes place Saturday, April 18.

Student Involvement & Leadership Development is currently looking for individuals to serve as project site leaders (PSL) from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Serving as a PSL can be a great opportunity to connect with students outside the classroom as well as serve the community.

PSLs are assigned to a handful of project sites and serve as a primary contact for teams assigned to those sites during the day of service.

While PSLs primarily assist with communication between the student volunteers, the site supervisor and Home Base, it is possible that they might also be called upon to assist in the case of an unforeseen situation that requires staff intervention.

Boxed lunches will be provided for all PSLs. Training is provided prior to the event. Each volunteer receives a T-shirt and must be able to provide his/her own transportation between his/her assigned project sites.

Registration is available online.
