Huskie Bus Line to stop at 7 p.m.

A Huskie Bus in winterDue to extreme weather conditions that include poor visibility and blowing and drifting snow, the Huskie Bus Line will stop running at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

The same weather conditions have also forced the suspension of Huskie Safe Line and Huskie Student Patrol operations. Please call NIU Police at 753-1212 with questions.

A blizzard warning remains in effect for all of northern Illinois and portions of northwest Indiana through midnight. According to the National Weather Service, the snow will continue through much of the evening and taper off tonight. However, northeast winds will become gusty up to 35 and 45 mph, which will result in blizzard conditions to areas mainly near and north of I-80. White out conditions are expected through tonight, and travel will become dangerous. Updates are posted to the NIU Emergency Weather page.
