Version 3.1.0 includes the new interactive campus map, which enables online navigation of the NIU campus anytime from virtually anywhere.
“The 3-D interactive map, along with the directional signage that was installed throughout campus late this summer, is big step in the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance way-finding and signage on the NIU campus,” said Brad Hoey, director of University Marketing.
“Rachel Xidis from our Web Communications team has worked very closely with web developer CampusBird to populate the online map with a number of filter options in an effort to highlight and provide information on many of our campus facilities, resources and amenities,” Hoey added.
The map is totally scalable and will evolve over time in concert with changes and/or enhancements to the campus facilities, structures and infrastructure.
Users enjoy a comprehensive, searchable set of campus locations, which are organized into 14 different category layers – for which visibility can be toggled on or off – including everything from academic facilities, dining, transportation, parking, ADA accessibility, libraries, points of interest and more.
