NIU’s first Veterans Day parade will step off at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, on Stadium Drive between the Student Recreation Center and the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center.
The parade will turn left on to Stadium Drive East in front of Huskie Stadium. It will then loop around the stadium onto Stadium Drive South.
The parade will cross the entrance of Huskie Stadium and finish by turning right onto Stadium Drive West. Vehicles will not turn right onto Stadium Drive West but continue to Lincoln Highway.
- Want to participate? Sign up online. Staging begins at 3:30 p.m. Punctuality is appreciated. Upon arrival, check in with NIU Military Student Services staff members who will place participants in their pre-determined parade positions.
After the parade, all participants are welcome to enjoy the festivities in The Yard in a tent reserved for tailgating. Kickoff of the football game versus Toledo is at 7 p.m.
Fans with military IDs can purchase tickets to the game that day for themselves and immediate family members for a discounted rate of $14 each. This offer is also extended to police, firefighters and EMTs with appropriate IDs.
