Student organizations plan Sept. 24 discussion on Ferguson, Mo.

Brown V. The Badge posterE.B.O.N.Y. Women and She’s Jazzology T.V. will host “Brown v. The Badge” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Stevenson Multipurpose Room.

All are welcome.

The program will focus on the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo.

Event organizers say participants will discuss the Ferguson situation, including the police force and its tactics, such as militarization; how the black community in general should respond; and what actions need to be taken for positive change.

Founded April 7, 2001, by 13 women with a vision to improve the quality of life at NIU, the organization works to unify and uplift women by promoting community service, providing programs and addressing issues of women of all cultures.
