A limited number of spots are now available for fans to join legendary NIU running back Michael Turner, President Doug Baker and Associate Vice-President and Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier for a Las Vegas VIP experience this September when the Huskies take on UNLV.
The Signature at MGM Grand will serve as the headquarters for the Huskie VIP group, and the weekend activities get under way on Thursday, Sept. 11, with a dinner at the MGM’s Shibuya restaurant. On Friday, golfers will play 18 holes at Bear’s Best Las Vegas, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course that has been voted “Best Places to Play” by Golf Digest and “Best Golf Course in Las Vegas” by the Las Vegas Review Journal.
On Saturday, transportation to Boyd Stadium and admission to the NIU Alumni Association Official Pregame Reception will be provided; then head into the stadium in time for kickoff as the Huskies take on the Rebels beginning at 4 p.m. (Pacific). Additional amenities provided through the VIP package, which is being managed through niusportstravel.com and the professional staff of PrimeSport, include an official team souvenir, lanyard and ticket holder.
Turner, one of the greatest running backs in NIU history, compiled 4,941 yards on a school-record 940 carries during his Huskie career. He went on to have a nine-year career in the National Football League and was a two-time Pro Bowl tailback for the Atlanta Falcons.
