Huskie Stadium to host free movie Aug. 1

MOVIE NIGHT AT HUSKIE STADIUMNorthern Illinois will host “Movie Night at Huskie Stadium” Friday, Aug. 1, as Huskie fans will be able to meet NIU head coaches and watch a movie on the Huskie Stadium videoboard.

Fans can vote for “Frozen,” “The Lego Movie” or “Little Giants” via the poll on NIUHuskies.com.

Admission to “Movie Night at Huskie Stadium” is free and the gates will open at 6 p.m., when fans will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with NIU head coach as the NIU Summer Circuit makes its final stop inside Huskie Stadium. NIU Director of Athletics Sean Frazier and Huskie coaches will speak to the crowd at 6:30, and the chosen movie will begin at 7 p.m.

Voting for the “Movie Night at Huskie Stadium” movie will close at 5 p.m. Friday, July 11.

All seating will be on the turf (no chairs) and except for bottled water; no food or beverages are allowed. Footballs and other balls cannot be brought into the stadium.

NIU will also host its season ticket holder appreciation event Aug. 1 in coordination with “Movie Night at Huskie Stadium.” Further details for the season ticket holder event will follow in the coming weeks. Fans who have not yet purchased season tickets can “Select-A-Seat” as available seats will be marked and NIU Athletics representatives will be on hand to take orders and answer questions about season tickets.
