Masih Shokrani, associate professor in the NIU Medical Laboratory Sciences program, has been named Member of the Year for 2013-2014 by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Sciences-Illinois (ASCLS-IL).
The honor came during the organization’s annual meeting awards ceremony, held during the first week of April in Skokie.
Member of the Year award recognizes a member of ASCLS-IL who has shown significant contributions over the past year or who has shown a long history of contribution to the field of medical laboratory science and to the state society, and who has inspired others by outstanding example.
Shokrani’s name will be submitted to the ASCLS for national award consideration.
ASCLS is preeminent voice of all clinical laboratory professionals, creating a vision for the advancement of the clinical laboratory practice field and advocating the value and the role of the profession in ensuring sage, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered health care.
