Northern Illinois University’s Department of Literacy Education will host a Literacy Educators & Leaders Networking Event from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 8.
This event at NIU-Hoffman Estates, 5555 Trillium Blvd., provides an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with faculty and former classmates. Alumni are encouraged to bring their colleagues to introduce them to the NIU Literacy community.
This networking event will include a brief program by faculty and alumni.
Reading faculty Laurie Elish-Piper, Michael Manderino and Susan L’Allier will address some of the hot topics in literacy. Alumni Elin Anderson, Meghan Pufundt and Alison Swade will share how the M.S.Ed in Literacy Education with a Focus on Reading program has enhanced their teaching expertise and their ability to be literacy leaders.

A new reading cohort for candidates wanting to earn the M.S.Ed in Literacy Education with a Focus on Reading will begin this fall at NIU-Hoffman Estates.
This degree leads to the reading specialist license.
