In response to feedback from Northern Illinois University students, the MyNIU portal is getting a new look.
Beginning Wednesday, March 12, students and employees logging in at myniu.niu.edu will see a streamlined layout intended to make information easier to access, including important calendar information, dining menu information, Anywhere cloud applications and additional campus resources for student success.
In addition to highlighting academics, student life and on-campus activities, the centerpiece of the MyNIU portal provides the university community with information to “Learn, Engage, Applaud and Discover” NIU.
“This portal was designed based on student feedback. We want this to be useful to our students so we asked them what they wanted and needed. We did our best to build those components into the design,” said Kelly Wesener Michael, NIU associate vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students.
The portal refresh was months in the making, she added. “Insights and ideas from key campus partners also assisted in the creation,” she said. “It was a true team effort.”
