Northern Illinois guard Amanda Corral (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) was named to the All-Mid American Conference third team, the league announced today.

Corral has enjoyed a career season for the Huskies, scoring 10-or-more points in 20 of NIU’s 28 games this season. The junior has also scored 20-or-more points seven times in 2013-13.

In Northern Illinois’ third conference game of the season – Jan. 12 versus Eastern Michigan – Corral scored a career-high 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting to lead NIU to a 23 point victory over EMU, 77-54.

On Feb. 22 versus Central Michigan, Corral entered the Huskies 1,000 point club, becoming the 26th Huskie to join the elite sorority. She is already No. 22 all-time in the NIU scoring annals with 1,067 point, an average of 12.1 points per game in the Northern Illinois’ Cardinal and Black.

The Huskies will begin the Mid-American Conference Tournament Monday, March 10, as it takes on Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Mich. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. Central.
