NIU’s Asian American Center is teaming up with departments and student organizations to support Independent Awakening’s “#ILoveMySelfie” national campaign.
Tables will be set up at DuSable Hall and the Holmes Student Center from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, for students to take “selfie” photos.
Independent Awakening is partnering up with multiple universities, high schools and organizations all across the United States to help collect more than 1,000 images and to create a national self-love campaign that promotes positive self-image and the importance of loving oneself first.
NIU departments and organizations are urged to encourage students to take photos of themselves holding up their favorite quotes or inspirational messages.
Students then can tweet photos to @E3awakening (don’t forget to hashtag #ILoveMySelfie), like and post pictures to Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/IndependentAwakening or email photos to awaken@independentawakening.org.
